Shanghai Ocean Aquarium was opened in 2002 at the cost of US$55m and is one of the largest aquariums in Asia.
The aquarium gives visitors the opportunity to become familiar with some of the world's aquatic animals which can be found in 28 exhibition zones containing over 300 species of rare aquatic animals.
The aquarium also has a 155-meter submarine tunnel to enable visitors see the aquatic animals at close range.
