Perched on slopes over looking Central, are the Zoological & Botanical Gardens. Opened in 1864, this is a pleasant retreat from the hustle and bustle of the City. The Botanical gardens are home to such things as fountains, sculptures, greenhouses and some fabulous avaries. It is one of the world`s leading centres for the captive breeding of endangered species.
To get to the garden, make your way to the peak terminus, but instead of crossing over keeping walking up the hill to the garden. If you are coming from Hong Kong Park, cross over the road.
