The village of Stanley is a popular excursion from downtown Hong Kong. Formerly known as Chek Chue, Stanley became an important military garrison when the British arrived in 1841. Stanley`s biggest draw is its market, although most of the bargains you see here are found elsewhere in Hong Kong. Still there is plenty to enjoy here.
To get to Stanley, take bus no6 from the Central bus terminus and alight at Stanley bus terminus.
