A little further along from Deep Water Bay is Repulse Bay. The Bay is surrounded by flash apartments and the beach itself is clean and a welcome retreat from the City. Up to 70,000 people have descended on the beach in summertime.
At the end of the beach is a Chinese garden with a temple that is a popular tourist spot and you can often see many people here taking pictures. Repulse Bay has a grim history from WWII when it was captured by the Japanese.
To get to Repulse Bay, take bus no6 from the Central bus terminus to Stanley and exit at Repulse Bay. You can then catch the same bus on to Stanley if you wish.
