The city of Macau is built on a peninsula of the Chinese mainland. It lies 60km west from Hong Kong across the Pearl River delta. There is plenty to see in Macau, including old colonial buildings, restaurants and casino`s, for which Macau is famous. A great place to head for the see a birds eye view of Macau is the awesome Macau Tower, currently the 10th highest in the world at 338 metres. Macau is not a big place and you can pretty much cover most areas on foot in a day. If you do go, be sure to try some of the local Portuguese cuisine.
To get to Macau, jump on the MTR to Sheung Wan and then catch the Hong Kong to Macau ferry from the Macau ferry terminal in the Shun Tak Centre. Don`t forget your passport.
